Taj Mahal sketch – Ink on paper
The Taj Mahal: she is beautiful, majestic, grand. She is the perfect subject for photographs and paintings, but most definitely, magnificent when seen with your own eyes. I was lucky enough to experience this magnificence and as a result, create this sketch.
In January 2016, a friend and I backpacked through northern India. We could not miss out on a day trip to Agra to visit the Taj Mahal and Agra Red Fort. The highlight for any visitor travelling India’s Golden Triangle, is most notably, the Taj Mahal. She is visited by millions of people every year, and has been depicted in photographs and drawings countless times. It was such a joy to be able to be there, soak in intense atmosphere and sketch her in all her glory.
