Brighton’s West Pier sketch – ink and watercolours on paper
I love Brighton. It has to be one of my favourite places in the world. Brighton is filled with culture, quirkiness, passion and a thriving music and art scene. I love Brighton because of it’s energy.
The burnt down West Pier is an iconic landmark on Brighton’s seafront. A fire destroyed the pavilion and concert hall buildings in 2003, and in 2010, the remaining collapsing structures were removed. Today, the skeletal metal supporting structures are all that remain of the West Pier. Probably photographed and drawn a million or more times, Brighton’s West Pier is a beauty to sketch. This sketch brings back pleasant memories for me of this wonderful place.
